Our Story

Meridian DesignBuild, Ltd. launched in 2005 when founder, Joe Balich, relocated to Charlotte, NC. He always had a passion for the industry so he opened up Meridian, a Charlotte construction and home renovation company, with the goal to carry out his mission of providing great quality construction and building services to every client.

Meet The Founder

Joe Balich

Since 1992, Joe has been a North Carolina Licensed General Contractor and has been licensed in South Carolina since 1994. Joe is a Carpenter by trade and has a background in Historical Renovation in the Boston Area. His favorite part of the construction process is deciding on the design and he also enjoys resolving challenges whether they are structural or functional.

Tip from the Owner: “We are all built with natural instinct. What is your feeling about your contractor? Too many times,  clients will select a contractor based on the quote and that’s never a safe evaluation. Sure, price matters, but in renovations, challenges will come up. How will that contractor work through the obstacles with you and what will that cost be? Quite often, its the cheapest bid that will cost you the most.”
